Terms of Service

Last updated: August 2026

This document was drafted to be a strong, real starting point — not filler text — but it has not been reviewed by a licensed attorney and does not yet reflect gotz's registered business entity or jurisdiction. Have it reviewed and finalized before accepting real payments.

1. Who this agreement is with

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of gotz (the "Service"), a marketplace that connects customers with nearby stores for product orders, and with local creators and workshops for custom-built projects. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use gotz.

2. Accounts

You need an account to use gotz. You're responsible for keeping your username and password confidential and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information when you sign up, and tell us right away if you suspect unauthorized access. You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to create an account.

3. gotz is a marketplace, not the seller

gotz connects customers with independent, third-party stores and creators. gotz is not the manufacturer, seller, or maker of any product or custom item, is not a party to the underlying transaction between a customer and a store or creator, and does not itself guarantee the quality, safety, legality, accuracy, or timely delivery of anything ordered through the Service. Stores and creators are independent businesses or individuals, not gotz employees, contractors, or agents.

4. Using gotz as a customer

When you submit a product order or a custom design request, you're sending a real request to be matched with nearby stores or creators, who may respond with pricing and timelines. A quote or match isn't a binding sale until you accept it. You're responsible for the accuracy of what you submit (descriptions, specs, reference images, sketches) and for reviewing a store's or creator's quote before accepting.

5. Using gotz as a creator or store

If you offer goods or services on gotz — as a workshop, independent creator, or store — you're responsible for the accuracy of your listings, quotes, and inventory; for honoring the price and timeline you quote once a customer accepts; for the quality, safety, and legality of what you sell or build; and for fulfilling accepted orders in a timely, professional manner. You're solely responsible for any taxes, licenses, or registrations your business needs under applicable law.

6. Payments

Where payment processing is enabled on gotz, it's handled by a third-party payment provider — gotz does not store your full payment card or bank details on its own servers. The specific provider, supported currencies, and payout mechanics for creators and stores will be documented here once payments are live; check back before relying on this section for a real transaction.

7. Cancellations, refunds & disputes

Cancellation and refund terms depend on the store or creator you're transacting with and the stage of the order (for example, a custom build already in progress may not be fully refundable). If a disagreement comes up between a customer and a store or creator, gotz may help facilitate a resolution but is not obligated to arbitrate, and is not liable for the outcome of a dispute between two independent parties using the Service.

8. Content you submit

You keep ownership of the sketches, photos, descriptions, and other content you upload to gotz. By submitting it, you give gotz a license to store, display, and share it with the stores or creators relevant to your request, and with other users where the Service's normal functioning requires it (for example, sharing a build's progress photos back to the customer who requested it). Don't upload anything you don't have the rights to, or anything illegal, infringing, or abusive.

9. Prohibited conduct

Don't use gotz to list or request anything illegal; to harass, defraud, or misrepresent yourself to another user; to circumvent the platform to avoid its policies once a match has been made in bad faith; to scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the Service; or to violate any applicable law.

10. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, gotz is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service or from any transaction between a customer and a store or creator. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited under applicable law.

11. Changes to these Terms

gotz may update these Terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above; continuing to use gotz after a change means you accept the revised Terms.

12. Governing law

The governing law and jurisdiction for these Terms will be specified here once gotz's business entity is formally registered.

13. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent through the Support option in your gotz profile.
